Prof
Gerardo
Guillen is the Cuban Scientific Director at the China–Cuba
Biotechnology Innovation Center (Hunan) and a Senior Researcher at the Center
for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Havana. His research focuses on
prophylactic and therapeutic vaccines and biotechnological drugs for cancer,
infectious diseases, neuroprotection, cardioprotection, autoimmunity, and wound
healing.
He is a
Professor at the University of Havana and the Latin American School of Medicine,
a Member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences and TWAS, and has authored over 290
scientific publications, holds 60+ patents, and received the WIPO Gold Medal
for the Abdala COVID-19 vaccine patent.
